Capturing Large Groups
Somewhere along the way, large group photos became one of my absolute favorite moments to capture on a wedding day. There’s something so electric about gathering everyone you love into one frame. It’s chaotic in the best way, and the result is always iconic. Here’s the part I love most:
Large group photos are the ultimate way to open the dance floor!
Instead of easing into the reception with long announcements or waiting for the “right moment” to get people moving, we bring everyone together right away. I snap the photo, everyone cheers, and then the DJ immediately drops your favorite song. No pause. No slow build. Just straight into the fun.
Instantly, the mood shifts. Guests are already standing shoulder to shoulder, smiling, laughing, maybe even a little hyped from squeezing into the shot. The music hits, and without overthinking it, the dance floor is open and full. It creates this seamless transition from formalities to party mode. If you’re looking for a way to kick off your reception with maximum excitement and zero pressure, a large group photo might just be the move.
