Classic elegance meets the heart of Detroit.
Aubrie and Ethan chose to begin their engagement session at the beautiful Detroit Institute of Arts, followed by a fun walk through Downtown Detroit to finish out the evening.
The DIA is such an iconic part of Detroit and one of my favorite locations for engagement portraits when couples are looking for that classic, elegant, editorial feel. From the architecture to the beautiful interior spaces, it creates such a timeless backdrop for photographs.
After capturing those more polished portraits, we headed downtown to switch things up. Walking through the city gave us the opportunity to capture more relaxed, candid moments while allowing Aubrie and Ethan's personalities to come through.
I love when an engagement session combines both sides of a couple's style. You can have the timeless, sophisticated portraits while still leaving room for movement, laughter, and moments that feel completely natural.
Planning a Detroit Engagement Session?
If you're looking for an engagement session that feels elevated but still personal, Detroit has so many beautiful options.
The Detroit Institute of Arts is perfect for couples who love:
Classic architecture
Elegant and editorial portraits
A timeless, sophisticated setting
Beautiful indoor and outdoor options
Pairing an iconic location like the DIA with a walk through Downtown Detroit can also give your gallery more variety. You get the polished portraits along with candid photographs that feel a little more effortless.
Most importantly, your engagement session should feel like you two. The location, outfits, and overall experience should reflect your relationship and the way you naturally interact with one another.
Aubrie and Ethan, I absolutely loved spending this time with you both.
I can't wait to see you two on your wedding day next year and capture the next chapter of your story!
Cheers to your engagement and everything that's ahead!
